About Me

Hi! My name is Emily, and I am so glad you’re here! A few things about me. I am a follower of Jesus, a wife to my amazing husband, and a homestead enthusiast! Learning new things is something that I love to do, whether it’s cooking, gardening, or making lotion, I am eager to learn. I hope you learn a lot on this journey with me!

I grew up in the beautiful state of Wyoming and met my husband in college. After we got married, we moved to his home, in Illinois to be near the family farm and cattle. Though I told myself I would never leave Wyoming, I really do love our rural area in Illinois! I feel as though I am living my childhood dream!

I am a follower of Jesus, and I would not be where I am today without His mercy and grace! My faith is in every aspect of my homestead journey. If you get nothing else from this blog, know that Jesus loves you!

I love to cook from scratch, try new things, be with the horses and cattle, and spend time with those I love. In the past couple of years, I have tried many new things, like sourdough, canning, tapping maple trees, etc. I look forward to sharing my experiences with each of these things.

I named my blog Homestead and Butter, to share how my two worlds collide. I love to be horseback, checking cattle, or harvesting my vegetables in the garden, but I also love to cook from scratch! It may take longer, but there is nothing like a homecooked meal.

Please feel free to share any topics you want me to share about! If you ever have questions or feedback, you can reach me at homesteadandbutter@gmail.com. You can also follow along with me on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube, or Pinterest.

P.S. Thanks Mom & Dad for instilling these values in me! I love you both!
